We are convening a group of anchor institutions, both public and private, representing some of the largest employers in the region across medicine, education, the arts, and culture.
From health care organizations to major universities like Fordham and Columbia, and cultural centers like the Wildlife Conservation Society and the New York Philharmonic, and public institutions like CUNY and NYCEDC, New York City is home to a range of tremendous local assets. Major institutions have the economic power to inject dollars into their local communities and spur economic development.

The mission of Ascend New York and its regional partner Ascend Long Island, is to support the economic development of local communities by helping entrepreneurs win contracts from larger companies and provide essential training and mentoring.
This is accomplished through Partnership Advisory Councils consisting of major corporations, anchor institutions, and government agencies serving those communities.
